Elderly man riding PMA against traffic flow on MacPherson Road 'could 'lead to serious accidents': Stomper
An elderly man was spotted riding a personal mobility aid (PMA) against the flow of traffic along MacPherson Road.
Stomper J shared clips of the incident, which occurred on March 1 at around 10.17am.
The video shows the elderly man in the middle of a traffic junction, with cars passing on both sides, before he turns onto a road with oncoming traffic.
Motorists can be seen carefully driving around the man as he slowly rides his PMA against traffic flow, before returning to the pavement when a bus comes into view.
J recounted: "The bus driver flashed the high beam and sounded the horn to alert the rider."
He added that the elderly man continued riding despite the warnings and "even signalled for the driver to give way".
The Stomper said this was the first time he saw a PMA user riding on the road in such a dangerous manner.
He noted that it was "very dangerous for both the bus and other road users" as it "posed a risk not only to others but also to the rider himself".
"I hope the authorities will look into this matter seriously, as such behaviour could potentially lead to serious accidents," J added.
