East Coast Park users blast loud music, sing karaoke at night: 'Noise can be heard 1km away'
A park is not a KTV lounge.
Yet people are blasting loud music and singing karaoke at East Coast Park at night, according to Stomper Nik.
"Every Saturday night between 8.30pm to after 10pm, a group of people set up their blue tent, powerful speakers and KTV system and start singing loudly," said the Stomper.
"The noise can be heard as far as 1km away. They also blast hard rock or metal music. The noise pollution is bad and disturbing!"
The Stomper shared videos taken at East Coast Park on Dec 14 and Jan 4 where you can hear the din.
"We are wondering," said the Stomper, "is public KTV allowed?"
While the National Parks Board (NParks) does not specifically prohibit karaoke in its parks, one of the rules is "do not make a lot of noise".
The NParks website states: "Keep noise levels low so that the sounds of nature can be better appreciated."
