Driver tells passenger to 'get out' after he asks him to turn up air-con, Tada issues refund
A passenger was told to get out of a Tada ride after asking the driver to turn up the air-conditioning.
Stomper Jailani alerted Stomp to a video of the incident that was posted on TikTok and has since garnered over 20,000 views.
The exchange begins with the passenger asking: "So you will not increase the air-con for us?"
The driver responds: "Go ahead and get out."
When the passenger says, "I will not get out," the driver repeats: "Get out, get out, I will not fetch you."
"It's my car, I'm asking you to get out," the driver adds, to which the passenger replies: "I will put this on social media."
"Go ahead," the driver says.
In response to a Stomp query, a Tada spokesperson said: "We are aware of the incident and have conducted an internal investigation to understand what has happened.
"Following our investigation, we have refunded the rider his trip fare.
"We take such matters seriously and remain committed to working closely with our driver-partners to ensure a positive and respectful environment and ecosystem."
This is not the first time a ride-hailing trip in Singapore has ended in a disagreement over air-conditioning.
Stomp earlier reported on a Grab driver who was suspended after adding a $5 'VIP charge' when a passenger asked him to turn up the air-con.
