Two separate incidents of personal mobility devices (PMDs) carrying two people were spotted in different parts of Singapore.

Stomper DK told Stomp he witnessed the first incident on Aug 8 near Mandarin Gallery along Orchard Road.

In a video shared by the Stomper, the PMD is carrying two people and music can be heard blasting over portable speakers.

The second incident took place on July 30 at Kim Tian Vista in Tiong Bahru.

"For this one, the rider was smoking and threw her cigarette butt on the floor," said DK, who also questioned: "Are these PMDs allowed?"

According to the Land Transport Authority, personal mobility aids (PMAs) or mobility scooters have only one seat to carry the individual with mobility challenges.

PMA lookalikes typically have more than one seat for pillion riders and are classified as PMDs, which are allowed only on cycling and shared paths but not footpaths.

They must also comply with the device criteria and be UL2272-certified.
