A double rainbow appeared over Singapore after days of rain, delighting residents who caught a glimpse of the colorful spectacle.

Multiple Stompers snapped photos of the beautiful sight on Feb 25 at around 7 pm.

Sharing a photo taken from his unit at Block 470 Segar Road in Bukit Panjang, Stomper W described the rainbow as "real huge, clear and colourful".

W said the rainbow represents "purity and peacefulness" and shared a picture of his wife gazing out of the window.

W's wife has a brain injury and he has been her full-time caregiver for the past seven years, he told Stomp. The couple have been married for 32 years.

"My wife was so happy to see the rainbow," W said, adding that the sighting brought happiness. It also brightened what had been a gloomy Chinese New Year for the couple.

Another regular Stomper, Ms Oz, also spotted the rainbow from her home in Geylang Bahru, which she said "remained for about 15 minutes."

"Not one but two rainbows to cheer us up," she added.

Meanwhile, Stomper Lau Lap saw one rainbow while he was at Geylang East Library.

"But you can say that I saw a double rainbow," Lau Lap said, "as I chanced upon a Chinese book called 'Bridge of Seven Colours' (transliterated) after lunch at the same library."

The double rainbow is an especially welcome sight after Singapore saw thundery showers in the last two weeks of February. This is expected to continue in the first fortnight of March, said the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS).
