Would you still be in the mood to eat?

Stomper June was left disgusted by the state of food trays at Clementi 448 Market & Food Centre after his visit on April 20.

She shared photos showing stains and food residue left on the trays.

June said: "I went to the hawker centre behind Clementi Mall to have a meal. The condition of the trays really spoiled my appetite.

"The cleaner only used a piece of cloth to wipe the trays and stacked them up to distribute them to the hawker stalls later.

"While I was sitting there watching the cleaning procedure, I didn't see her rinse the cloth even once. How unhygienic!

“If everyone deserves a clean table, shouldn't everyone deserve a clean tray too?”

While the general spring cleaning of the hawker centre is managed by the town council, contractors are employed to uphold the day-to-day cleanliness of the facilities.

Diners dissatisfied with poor hygiene standards in hawker centres can provide their feedback to the National Environment Agency or the Singapore Food Agency.
