Cyclist injured after PMD allegedly rear-ended him ‘on purpose’ in Kaki Bukit: ‘I will not let this matter rest’
A cyclist alleged that he was rear-ended by a personal mobility device (PMD) rider “on purpose” at Kaki Bukit Avenue 1 on March 21.
Stomper Anonymous, who is the cyclist, said it was a hit-and-run case.
“While cycling on the pavement, this guy accelerated and rear-ended me on purpose, causing me to get flung off my bicycle,” recounted the Stomper. “After hitting me, the rider took off.”
The Stomper said he had bruises and abrasions on his hands and knees. He shared a photo that also shows a wound on his abdomen.
“My bicycle is unridable now from the damage,” added Anonymous, who is appealing for witnesses and videos of the incident.
He also shared a video of the PMD rider taken before the incident. The cyclist said he recorded the video because minutes earlier, the PMD rider had “brushed” against his shoulder while overtaking him. A female passenger was also on the PMD.
The PMD rider was “probably not happy” about the Stomper taking the video, which resulted in the cyclist getting rear-ended, claimed Anonymous.
He added: “What goes around comes around. I will not let this matter rest.”
In response to a Stomp query, the police said they received a call for assistance at about 5.40pm. A 24-year-old man sustained minor injuries but refused medical attention.
Police investigations are ongoing.
