While the presidential candidates were setting out to build a presence on social media, a toddler went viral for her enthusiasm for Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Singapore's president-elect.

TikTok user Faisal Marican posted a video of his daughter Amara on Polling Day (Sept 1) in which she repeatedly exclaimed Mr Tharman's name to counter her dad stating Mr Ng Kok Song's name.

Netizens were won over by the toddler who flapped her arms and stomped her feet while giving her father exasperated looks every time he countered her 'Tharman' with 'Kok Song'.

The video has since garnered over 813,000 views.

In a video uploaded on Sept 3, Faisal responded to a comment from a viewer who hoped Mr Tharman would see the video and meet with Amara.

Mr Tharman will be sworn in as president at the Istana on Sept 14.
