Two Stompers have expressed their disappointment after meals they ordered at different Toast Box outlets looked nothing like the promotional images on display.

Stomper Steven said he visited the Toast Box outlet at IMM on April 27 and ordered a set meal that cost $7.10, which included a hae bee hiam soft bun, two soft-boiled eggs and a coffee.

But what he received left him underwhelmed.

"Look at the vast difference between the poster and the actual," he said. "This is daylight robbery."

He added: "Perhaps the poster suggests that the hae bee hiam is applied only to the edges, and not the inside of the buns."

Steven also shared that he had sent Toast Box a message via Facebook Messenger but had not received a response at the time of writing.

Separately, Stomper Audrey said her recent experience at the United Square outlet on April 10 at 11.45am was the final straw.

"Think I just had my last meal at Toast Box," she said.

Audrey had ordered the braised pork rice, which cost $12 and came with coffee and a slice of cake, but she said the portion of meat in her bowl was shockingly small.

"Food served with meat cut by 10 per cent from the poster," she claimed.

"It's truly disappointing, especially when you crave for the dish.

"Even though we all know the posters are impressions, this is just way too ridiculous."
