The incident happened at Airport Road towards the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway near the Paya Lebar Fire Station

Under the Smoking (Prohibition in Certain Places) Act, smoking is prohibited in taxis.

Anyone caught smoking in a public service vehicle may face a composition fine of $200, or up to the maximum court fine of $1,000.

In response to a Stomp query, Ms Tammy Tan, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, ComfortDelGro Corporation Limited, said: "The cabby was found to have breached no-smoking regulations and has been warned."
