A woman woke up on National Day morning to discover someone had thrown eggs onto her bedroom window outside her Bukit Batok flat.

The Stomper, who gave her name as Gel, believes the act was carried out by a colleague she had previously fallen out with at work.

"We used have a good relationship at work. However, due to some personality issues, I started to distance myself from him," recounted the Stomper.

She claimed the colleague became upset and later told a mutual colleague that he could "make her life difficult", adding that his fiancée worked at the same company in a supervisory role.

Gel alleged that the fiancée even shared confidential information about the Stomper with the colleague.

"Both were given warnings — one for making threatening remarks, and the other for sharing confidential information," she told Stomp.

She said tensions escalated after that.

"After the warning, things got worse," she claimed. "That's when my address was somehow obtained, and eggs were thrown at my home."

She added in a police report she made on Sept 1: "Since the egg-throwing incident, I've felt unsafe as he has my address now. I am very concerned and would like to know how he managed to get hold of my address."

In response to a Stomp query, the police confirmed a report had been lodged, and that investigations were ongoing.

That was in September.

Gel told Stomp in November that the colleague involved was issued a written police warning and has since left the company.

The Stomper said: "The police investigated and found out that my address was leaked from my department."

As a result, Gel said she now fears retaliation at work.

"A leak is a serious offence," Gel explained.

"When I went to my HOD to find out how my colleague got my address to come my house throw eggs, he brushed me off with 'Maybe he followed you home' as if it was my fault that I was not being vigilant.

She added that she has since met with the company's CEO and that an internal review is under way into how the situation was handled.

Gel said she decided to speak out to raise awareness of workplace bullying and conflicts of interest.

"There are many victims," she said.

She also warned that it's dangerous when colleagues can retrieve your private information from the company's system.
