Following an oil spill off the north-eastern coast of Pulau Ubin on April 3, a clean-up operation led by the National Environment Agency (NEA) begun the next day on affected areas.

Stomper Jo was particularly impressed with the rapid response, noting that workers were already deployed to carry out the clean-up by the early morning at Pasir Ris Beach.

She shared photos, including one that shows a sign advising against swimming at the beach and the area cordoned off with tape.

Other images show the extent of the spill, where black oil patches can be seen on the ground.

"Singapore is efficient!" Jo remarked.

According to NEA, clean-up operations have begun at Changi Beach as well.

The agency advised the public against "swimming and other primary contact water activities" at Changi Beach and Pasir Ris Beach until further notice.
