Cars going against flow of traffic at Changi Airport and Hougang: 'Get this driver off the road ASAP'
Two cars were recently caught on camera going against traffic at Changi Airport and Hougang.
Stomper Nazir shared dash cam video of a GetGo car stopped at a U-turn facing the wrong way below the iconic Changi Airport control tower on Dec 1 at 10.36pm.
A Traffic Police officer can be seen arriving on motorcycle and getting of the bike to approach the driver.
"Should these car-sharing apps even be allowed on Singapore roads if their users consists of drivers who cannot even use their eyes to see the road markings right in front of them?" asked the Stomper rhetorically.
"That's already as basic as it gets yet these are considered 'qualified' drivers on these apps.
"I hope that officer did his job and took down the driver particulars to forward to the Traffic Police. At the very least, they should get this one driver off the roads ASAP, hopefully before his wrong turns into oncoming traffic get someone killed, whether intentionally or just from sheer out-of-practice incompetence."
Stomper Ed had his own encounter with a driver going against the flow of traffic at Lorong Ah Soo in Hougang on Nov 30 before dawn.
Sharing dash cam video of the incident involving a white Toyota Noah, he said: "The person was turning right from Hougang Street 11 near The Minton condominium into Lorong Ah Soo."
The Stomper added that he has made a police report.
