The car driver, 57, who chased down a bus and confronted the bus captain in Sengkang is assisting with investigations into a case of using abusive language towards a public service worker.

Stomper Anonymous shared photos of a silver Hyundai Ioniq stopped in front of the Go-Ahead bus service 85 on Aug 3.

A Go-Ahead Singapore spokesperson told Stomp: "Our findings show that when the bus was weaving to the rightmost lane along Rivervale Drive to turn onto Compassvale Drive, the car driver sounded the horn as the bus overtook the car.

"When both the bus and the car were at the traffic junction, the driver alighted and confronted our bus captain, who explained that he needed to weave onto the rightmost lane to turn right. The car continued to trail the bus to the next bus stop.

"When the bus was preparing to leave the stop, the car driver moved his car to prevent the bus from leaving and the driver confronted our bus captain again.

"All the onboard bus passengers alighted safely, and the police were activated to the scene to provide assistance."

In response to a Stomp query, the police said the police received a call for assistance at a bus stop at Compassvale Drive towards Rivervale Drive at 4.05pm.

Police investigations are ongoing.

The same Hyundai Hyundai Ioniq was involved in a separate incident at Clementi Avenue 4 on June 20. It was caught on camera speeding in an open-air carpark and crashing into two parked vehicles.

A 45-year-old male driver was arrested for drug-related offences and taken to hospital. Police said he was assisting with investigations for careless driving.
