Car driver chases down bus before blocking its way and confronting captain, forcing all passengers to alight
A car driver allegedly chased down a Go-Ahead bus and blocked it from going ahead, forcing the bus passengers to alight and transfer to another bus.
The incident happened at Compassvale Drive in Sengkang on Aug 3 at 4pm.
Stomper Anonymous shared photos of a silver Hyundai Ioniq stopped in front of the double-decker bus.
"This driver chased bus service 85 for one stop just because the bus driver changed lanes to prepare for a right turn," recounted the Stomper.
"He forced all the passengers to alight the bus and wait for the next bus to come."
The Stomper said there were about 20 bus passengers, including a person with special needs.
In response to a Stomp query, a Go-Ahead Singapore spokesperson said the bus operator was aware of the incident.
"Our findings show that when the bus was weaving to the rightmost lane along Rivervale Drive to turn onto Compassvale Drive, the car driver sounded the horn as the bus overtook the car," said the spokesperson.
"When both the bus and the car were at the traffic junction, the driver alighted and confronted our bus captain, who explained that he needed to weave onto the rightmost lane to turn right. The car continued to trail the bus to the next bus stop.
"When the bus was preparing to leave the stop, the car driver moved his car to prevent the bus from leaving and the driver confronted our bus captain again.
"All the onboard bus passengers alighted safely, and the police were activated to the scene to provide assistance."

When the Stomper left on the next bus service 85, the car driver and bus captain were still waiting for the police.
"Every bus stop had more passangers now because of the bus missing its schedule," said the Stomper.
"It was a very selfish act by the car driver. So many passengers were affected. If the car driver thought the bus driver was in the wrong, he could've taken action afterwards by reporting him to the bus company."
The Go-Ahead Singapore spokesperson told Stomp: "The safety of our bus captains and commuters remain our priority.
"We appeal to members of the public to be respectful towards one another, especially in shared commuting spaces."
