A cabby made a loss after accidentally clicking 'the wrong button'.

Stomper Hiong told Stomp that he received a GrabTaxi booking on Monday morning (May 8) for a trip from Stirling Road to Toa Payoh Hub.

"The total fare was $19.49," he said.

"Because there was a back-to-back job lined up for me, I accidentally clicked the wrong button (confirmed payment) because I needed to quickly get to the next destination before the passenger cancelled the booking."

On top of not earning the $19.49 fare, he made a loss of 60 cents for the trip even though it was during peak hour and included electronic road pricing (ERP) charges.

"It was sort of like giving the passenger a free ride," he said.

Hiong's experience comes after a similar incident that Stomp reported on where another GrabTaxi driver mistakenly charged a passenger $2.30 instead of $27.90 and ended up earning only $1.70 for a 24.6km trip.

The cabby had 'accidentally pressed the wrong fare'.
