Bukit Panjang 'smoking and beer corner': How town council will address resident's non-compliance
It was still there.
Holland-Bukit Panjang Town Council has responded after Stomp reported on Oct 21 that a "smoking and beer corner" remained in a common area even after the town council's Oct 6 deadline for removal.
Stomper W had shared photos of the furniture, which included a table, chairs and a patio umbrella, on the ground floor of Block 473 Segar Road taken on Oct 16.

A town council spokesperson told Stomp on Oct 28: "Holland-Bukit Panjang Town Council has been actively monitoring this situation.
"Even before the recent feedback, our property team along with community volunteers, had been engaging with the resident over the past four months to address the concerns.
"We noticed a recurring pattern where items were consistently being returned to the common areas.
"Despite our ongoing efforts, the resident has yet to fully comply, and instances of non-compliance persist. As a result, we will be intensifying our educational efforts while implementing stricter enforcement measures to address the situation."
The town council also responded to Stomp's Oct 24 report about a "junkyard" that remained on the ground floor a block away at Block 472 Segar Road even after the town council's Oct 6 deadline for removal.
The Stomper had shared photos of items, including clothes racks, bicycles and folded tables, in the common area taken on Oct 21.
He said the resident "abused" the common corridor, turning it into a "junkyard" and safety hazard as well as causing obstruction for wheelchair users such as his wife.
The town council spokesperson told Stomp on Oct 28: "Our property team has been working closely with the resident, leading to a noticeable reduction of clutter at the common passageway."
The town council shared photos to show the reduced clutter.

The spokesperson added: "Moving forward, we will strengthen our educational efforts to encourage further cooperation. We will continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure sustained improvements."
