Boy sitting in front basket of shared bicycle in Woodlands is 'extremely dangerous', says Stomper
A boy was spotted sitting in the front basket of a HelloRide shared bicycle in Woodlands.
Stomper Arthur told Stomp the incident happened at the junction of Woodlands Avenue 9 and Woodlands Drive 91 on Nov 2 at about 8.10pm.
"It's a dangerous misuse of a shared bicycle," said the Stomper. "The basket has a weight limit and is definitely not designed to carry a person."
"It's not the first time I've seen such rash acts.
"Not only is it inconsiderate and damaging to the bicycle, it is also extremely dangerous to passers-by and other road users."
In an earlier Stomp report, a woman was seen riding a HelloRide bicycle with a passenger sitting in the front basket near Block 106B Canberra Street on July 11.
Although HelloRide does not directly address riders sitting in their bikes' baskets, it advises users to 'ride responsibly' and strongly encourages all riders to wear a helmet.
