An 11-year-old boy lost a $2,500 guitar in a Toa Payoh void deck on July 3 and made a police report.

Stomper Mike said the guitar belonged his friend, who is a guitar teacher.

"My friend Andrew, a Suzuki guitar teacher, loaned his student a rare $2,500 Southern Cross guitar," recounted the Mike.

"After completing his lesson in Andrew's home at Block 84A Lorong 2 Toa Payoh, the boy left the guitar in the void deck at 11.55am to buy a drink.

"When he returned five minutes later, the guitar was gone."

The boy made a police report at the Toa Payoh Neighbourhood Police Centre at 2pm.

The guitar was handcrafted by luthier Richard Howell in Victoria, Australia.

The Stomper said his friend hopes to get the musical instrument back.

"They don't make this guitar anymore," said Mike. "It's of sentimental value to Andrew."

In response to a Stomp query, the police confirmed a report was lodged, adding that investigations are ongoing.
