Plumes of smoke rise from Pioneer construction site after boom lift catches fire
A boom lift at a construction site in Pioneer caught fire on Jan 7.
A Stomper alerted Stomp to the incident and shared photos and videos of flames and smoke coming from the burning vehicle.
Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) officers were seen arriving in fire engines and a Red Rhino.
"Luckily, it was not fatal," said the Stomper.
"SCDF are really superb, they came quickly."
In response to a Stomp query, the SCDF said they were alerted to a fire at 15 Benoi Sector at about 2.25pm.
"The fire, which involved a boom lift, was extinguished by SCDF using a water jet," an SCDF spokesperson said.
There were no reported injuries and the fire is under investigation.
