BMW 'grazes' Stomper's PHV while overtaking in school zone, nearly hits pedestrians on zebra crossing
A BMW narrowly missed two pedestrians using a zebra crossing outside Cantonment Primary School on the morning of Nov 6.
This was after the car "grazed" Stomper Philip's private-hire vehicle (PHV) while overtaking on the two-way two-lane road at Cantonment Close.
Claiming it was a hit-and-run, the Stomper has made a police report.
In the dashcam footage he shared, a woman can be seen approaching the PHV and the Stomper stopped to let her board, blocking the BMW from leaving the school pickup-dropoff point.
The BMW driver can be heard scolding the woman, who shouted back: "Just keep quiet."
The Stomper asked the BMW driver: "Do you have a problem?"
The woman told the Stomper: "Can we just go? Bloody s***."
The Stomper recounted in the police report: "I was boarding a passenger when (the BMW driver) was so impatient that he overtook me from behind against the flow of traffic at the school zone, almost hit pedestrians at the zebra crossing hit and grazed the right portion of my vehicle."
The PHV driver said that after the incident, he felt pain in his back and neck. He saw a doctor at Mount Alvernia Hospital and was granted five days of sick leave.
In response to a Stomp query, the police confirmed a report was lodged, adding that investigations are ongoing.
The Stomper also reported the incident to the Land Transport Authority.
A video of the incident was posted online by SG Road Vigilante.
A YouTube user commented: "This is a primary school zone, in a housing neighborhood. There are small kids, old folks taking that path daily. Such reckless driving behavior is totally uncalled for, regardless of the circumstances."
