Bin catches fire at Woodlands: 'I smelled burning rubber from 2 blocks away'
A rubbish bin caught fire at Block 777 Woodlands Crescent in the early hours of Friday morning (Feb 28).
Stomper Quintus alerted Stomp to the incident and shared photos and videos he took at the scene.
"I smelled burning rubber from our bedroom two blocks away and went down to investigate," he said.
"Within a few minutes, our Home Team arrived and the fire was put out by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).
"The heat was quite intense and I could feel it even from standing at a distance."
In response to a Stomp query, the SCDF said it responded to the fire at 2.35am.
The fire was extinguished using a domestic hose.
