Big Bang member T.O.P has been booked without detention on charges of smoking marijuana multiple times last year, police said on June 1.

According to The Korea Herald, the K-pop star had tested positive for marijuana in a drug test conducted by Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's drug crime unit in March.

T.O.P's agency YG Entertainment released a statement that confirmed the incident.

It said, "It is true that T.O.P smoked marijuana before the enlistment and we sincerely apologize for the outcome. The rapper has undergone all police investigation, and regrets his wrongdoing."

The 29-year-old rapper is suspected of having smoked liquid-form marijuana three times with a 21-year-old female singer in training at his residence in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, in October last year.

The case has been sent to the prosecutors.
