Aussie boarding flight at Changi Airport allegedly says he wants to crash plane, gets escorted off
An Australian man was boarding a departing flight at Changi Airport on Nov 23 when he allegedly told a cabin crew member he wanted to crash the plane.
The police said the 36-year-old man was then disembarked from the flight and escorted to a holding room, where he allegedly uttered the same words again.
The man will be charged on Dec 9 with two counts of using threatening words causing alarm, which is punishable with a fine not exceeding $5,000.
The police added they treat all security threats seriously and will not hesitate to take action against anyone who causes public alarm with false threats.
"Beyond the fear and inconvenience caused to other members of the public, the making of false threats comes at a cost in the extensive public resources that have to be deployed to deal with the incident," said the police.
