Just when it seemed like incidents of people relieving themselves in public in Jalan Besar had become less frequent, another man was recently caught on camera doing just that.

Stomper Gloria shared a video showing a man urinating in an alley at Petain Road on March 7 at about 12.39pm.

In the video, the man is seen walking towards a wall in the alley before relieving himself.

While doing so, he appears to notice the warning signs in the area. He is seen leaning closer to a sign as if to read it before looking around and behind him.

One of the signs even features screenshots of previous Stomp reports about public urination in the same vicinity.

"This does not happen so often these days but there are still some narcissistic turds who want their two minutes of fame," Gloria said. "At the time of the incident, plenty of bars and KTV spots were still open."

She also said a coffee shop across the road is open 24 hours, suggesting the man could have visited one of these venues instead of relieving himself against a wall.

"You wanted to be famous, you got it," she said. "Famous for breaking the law in a most disgusting way."

The Stomper said such incidents used to occur much more frequently in the past.

"This used to happen a few times a week," she said. "Now it's only once every few months."

According to her, the situation improved after some nightlife outlets in the area closed.

Gloria added that previous Stomp reports on the issue may also have helped reduce such incidents.

In April 2025, Gloria alerted Stomp to a man who was seen running to a wall and urinating behind a potted plant in the same vicinity.

She also shared another incident in August the same year, showing a group of men searching for a spot to relieve themselves at Petain Road, just metres away from a sign warning against such behaviour.

According to the National Environment Agency (NEA), those found urinating or defecating in public will be fined $300. If convicted in court, offenders can be fined up to $1,000.
