Allan Wu recalls working on Chinese drama with actor who was sleeping with 2 actresses: 'Awkward'
Who could he be talking about?
Actor-presenter Allan Wu said he worked on a Chinese drama where an actor was sleeping with two of the actresses on the show.
He revealed this in a conversation with fellow local celebrity hunk Bobby Tonelli in an episode of a podcast they host together called "Call Us Daddy".
Uploaded to YouTube on Nov 4, the episode was called "Harsh truths on Singapore showbiz" where they discussed how much money they make and politics in local entertainment.
Tonnelli asked Wu: "Were there any scandals you came across?"
Wu recounted: "I remember being on Chinese dramas where I'm working with these actors and I know like it's just awkward because that actor is sleeping with the two actresses at the same time.
"It's just freaking awkward, man. Of course, I can't say names, you know.
"But yeah, you have those situations, right? This guy's like a playboy. He's obviously in a position of authority. He's got influence and he's famous, you know, and decides to make his move on this girl and then make move on a different girl on the same show.
"I'm, of course, affected by it too. But that's the way it rolls, right?
"Obviously, we're in the industry where generally speaking, everyone is attractive. We're there for a reason. And sometimes people take these roles or take these opportunities to serve their own interest and next thing you know, you're in an awkward position because this girl finds out and then you're just trying to act within your role too."
Tonelli responded: "Wow."
Wu acted in Channel 8 dramas in the early 2000s such as Bukit Ho Swee and True Heroes. He also hosted The Amazing Race Asia and was married to former actress Wong Lilin from 2003 to 2013. They have two children.
Tonelli is probably best known as actress Joanne Peh's boyfriend before she married Qi Yuwu in 2014.
