Aggressive and 'really very noisy' crows still ruffling feathers in Yishun
Crows continue to be a nuisance for Yishun residents.
Stomper Meng said the birds are aggressive and noisy, adding that this is an issue that has been going on for months.
He shared a video of crows flying around Block 771 Yishun Avenue 3 on Dec 18, 2024, at around 9.50am.
Meng told Stomp: "There are so many crows here, near the swimming pool.
"I've spoken to some residents who agree that the crows are really very noisy. Those living here, many of whom are older folks, have got to put up with the noise as they don't know where to seek help.
"The crows were also aggressive and flew above me in a circle when I was walking at the nearby carpark even though they did not attack me.
"I have observed that food waste has attracted these crows here. Just another block away is a coffee shop and a row of shops (including a wet market and Prime Supermarket)."
Meng said the situation has not improved despite Nee Soon Town Council pruning trees in the area and his Oct 2024 Stomp report.
He added: "I hope the authorities can do something about this."
In response to a Stomp query, a spokeswoman for Nee Soon Town Council said: "We are aware of this issue, and the National Parks Board (NParks) will continue to conduct surveys and carry out nest removal activities.
"The town council monitors and clears any food waste regularly, ensuring that bins are emptied promptly. We also engage with local eateries to ensure their bins are properly covered. Additionally, we will be deploying anti-pilferage bins in hotspot areas."
