$7.90 economy rice with no meat: Koufu stall vendor apologises, will retrain staff
A diner who was charged $7.90 for his economy rice at a food court in Tampines has accepted the stall's apology.
Stomper Francis had visited Koufu in the Giant Hypermarket building on Jan 23 and was shocked by the cost of his meal as it contained no meat.
However, his receipt stated that he had ordered two meat dishes and two vegetable dishes.
Francis told Stomp: "The staff told me that the mushroom and tau kee are considered meat. They also said it's like that and from their management."
Following Francis' feedback, the stall vendor contacted Stomp and said: "We sincerely apologise. The staff should use the correct keys for dishes ordered. We have retrained the staff to use the correct keys to avoid confusion to customers.
"Do let us know how we can provide further assistance. Thank you."
In response, Francis said: "I think I should forgive and let go in the spirit of goodwill since they have already apologised. I should give them some space to continue their business.
"Perhaps, they can display their prices with a small placard on each dish to avoid misunderstandings. The staff should also listen to feedback from diners and not brush them off by pushing it to their management.
"Let's close this case and I accept the vendor's apology."
