76-year-old man found dead in Bukit Batok flat
A 76-year-old man was found dead in a flat at Block 179 Bukit Batok West Avenue 8 on Monday morning (Oct 23).
Responding to a Stomp query, the police said they received a call for assistance at around 8.35am.
The elderly man was "found lying motionless in a residential unit" and pronounced dead at the scene.
Based on preliminary investigations, the police do not suspect foul play.
Shin Min Daily News reporters who visited the scene noticed a stench around the unit.
According to a neighbour, the deceased was formerly a security guard who had been retired for around two years.
The neighbour also said that in the five years since she moved in, she had not seen any relatives or friends visiting the deceased.
Police investigations are ongoing.
