Cyclist, 74, dies after accident with lorry in Jurong, 70-year-old driver assisting with probe
A 74-year-old woman riding a bicycle died after a traffic accident in Jurong on Sept 20.
A photo of the accident's aftermath shows the woman lying on the side of the road near her toppled bicycle as bystanders looked on.
In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the accident involving a lorry and a cyclist at the junction of Corporation Road and Boon Lay Drive at about 8.05am.
The woman was conscious when taken to the hospital, where she subsequently died.
The male lorry driver, 70, is assisting with police investigations, which are ongoing.
More people were killed in road traffic accidents in the first half of 2025, compared with the same period a year ago, said the Traffic Police in their mid-year report in August.
There were 78 fatal accidents from January to June, up from 70 in the first half of 2024.
