7-year-old boy in China imitates cartoon and jumps down 10-storey building with umbrella as parachute

A boy in Suzhou, China, jumped out of a unit on the 10th storey of a building with an umbrella that he intended to use as a parachute.

According to The Coverage, the 7-year-old was imitating a cartoon he had seen on TV earlier.

A video of the aftermath of the fall shows the boy's mother collapsing and crying at the scene. 

There was a huge crowd around the boy and the red umbrella that he held.

Miraculously, the youngster managed to survive the fall from height, but was left with serious injuries.

Instead of the parachute, it was a powerline that helped break his fall.
