64-year-old man arrested for allegedly snatching 80-year-old woman's gold chain

A 64-year-old man was arrested for his suspected involvement in a case of snatch theft.

The police received a report on Aug 26 at about 11.32am from an 80-year-old woman, who said her gold chain had been snatched away by a male subject at Block 102 Henderson Crescent.

Officers from Clementi Police Division conducted extensive ground enquires and with the aid of footages from police cameras (Polcams), the suspect's identity was established.

He was arrested at Geylang Lorong 39 on the same day and the gold chain was recovered.

The suspect will be charged tomorrow (Aug 28) for snatch theft.

If convicted, he will be punished with an imprisonment for a term of not less than one year and not more than seven years, and shall also be liable to caning.
