After a woman made a cash withdrawal from an automatic teller machine, a man purportedly snatched $300 from her.

He subsequently ran away and no injuries were reported.

The police were alerted to the case at Bedok North Street 3 on Aug 5 at about 10.20am.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the 29-year-old man and arrested him within one hour of the report.

The stolen cash was fully recovered.

The man will be charged in court on Aug 6 with snatch theft, which carries an imprisonment term of not less than one year and not more than seven years, and caning.
