3 teens arrested after allegedly placing legs over ledge of Lucky Plaza rooftop carpark
Three 17-year-old teenagers were arrested for rash act after they were allegedly seen sitting on a ledge at the rooftop carpark of Lucky Plaza on July 6.
In response to a Stomp query, the police said they received a call for assistance at 304 Orchard Road, "where a group of teenagers had allegedly placed their legs over the ledge", at 3.50pm.
A Shin Min Daily News reader told the Chinese-language newspaper that he saw a police car at the bus stop outside Tang Plaza at around 5pm.
Several police officers were spotted questioning a group of youths, three of whom were then handcuffed and taken away in a police car.
According to Shin Min, the escalator in Lucky Plaza takes you up till the sixth floor of the mall. The carpark on the seventh and eighth storeys can only be accessed via the stairs.
The open-air carpark on the eighth floor has a 1.65m wall and anti-collision barriers.
The youths were believed to have climbed up onto the ledge using the barriers.
A reporter who visited the scene saw handprints on the wall as well as plastic bottles and disposable cutlery left behind.
Police investigations are ongoing.
