2m long python takes a chill pill at East Coast Park -- right outside Stomper's tent

Stomper N was at East Coast Park this morning (Dec 18) at around 11am when she came across an unusual sight.

In a telephone interview, N said she saw a huge python just outside a tent she was at.

Said the Stomper:

"The snake was around 2 metres long and looked to be quite fat.

"My friend and I walked towards it and it then slithered near the sand and coiled itself up.

"I called the Police and they arrived around 15 minutes later."

The serpent was eventually brought away by animal rescuers.
