The authorities recovered over $619,000 in outstanding summonses from 241 foreign motorists with unpaid fines who were stopped at Singapore's land checkpoints.

The multi-agency operation, conducted from Oct 6 to 8, targeted drivers who had failed to settle fines for traffic, parking, or vehicular emissions offences.

The operation was led by the Traffic Police and supported by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA), Housing and Development Board (HDB), Land Transport Authority (LTA), National Environment Agency (NEA), and Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA).

The authorities said Singapore takes a serious view of foreign motorists who commit offences and do not pay their fines. Those with outstanding penalties may be denied entry into Singapore.

Motorists are reminded to follow local laws, including adhering to speed limits, paying ERP and parking charges, parking legally and ensuring their vehicles comply with the emissions limit.

Foreign motorists can check for outstanding fines via AXS and make payments through AXS kiosks, the AXS website or app, or the respective agencies' websites and service counters.
