A 22-year-old man was arrested for various offences after he kicked up a drunken ruckus outside Orchard Plaza on March 1.

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they received a call for assistance at 150 Orchard Road at around 11am.

The man was arrested for using criminal force against a public servant from discharge of his duty, using abusive language against a public servant, rash act and for drunkenness in public places.

A video sent to Shin Min Daily News shows the man struggling as two police officers tried to restrain him. The man also hurled vulgarities at one of them.

The commotion drew a crowd of onlookers.

The scene was a mess, with many broken beer bottles left behind.

A food stall assistant working in the area told Shin Min: "There are bars nearby, so people often stir up trouble after getting drunk. We are used to it."

Police investigations are ongoing.
