2 subcontractors charged for forging quotations to deceive S'pore Prison Service that they were lowest bids
Two men who were allegedly involved in creating false quotations in relation to a development project under the Singapore Prison Service were charged in court on May 23.
According to The Straits Times, Tan Sin Liang, 63, and Kiew Khie Leong, 35, were employees of two different subcontractors engaged by the project's team contractor for mechanical and electrical works.
Kiew allegedly forged 11 quotations purportedly issued by two other contractors between January and December 2019.
Tan is said to have instigated his administrative staff to forge three quotations purportedly issued by another contractor between January 2018 and December 2020.
These forged quotations were created with the intention of deceiving the Singapore Prison Service that their respective company's quotations were the lowest-priced quotations submitted for works to be carried out for the project.
They will face forgery charges. If convicted, the offence carries an imprisonment term of up to four years and a fine for each charge.
