2 Mercedes cars splashed with 'unknown substances' in Ang Mo Kio carpark, man arrested
A 43-year-old man was arrested after the bonnets of two Mercedes-Benz cars were splashed with unknown substances.
A debtor note was left behind as well.
The police were alerted on July 16 at about 7.10pm to possible loanshark harassment in a multi-storey carpark at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4.
Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from CCTVs and Police cameras, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him 10 days later.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the man was also allegedly involved in a similar case in an open carpark at Jurong West Street 81, where the bonnet of another car was also splashed with unknown substances.
The man will be charged in court on July 27 under the Moneylenders Act 2008.
For first-time offenders, the offence of loanshark harassment carries a fine between $5,000 and $50,000, with imprisonment of up to five years, and caning of up to six strokes.
