2 men dead after being found unconscious during fire at Kaki Bukit industrial building
Two men died after a fire broke out at the Synergy@KB building in Kaki Bukit on Sept 19.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said firefighters from Paya Lebar Fire Station and Tampines Fire Station responded to the fire at 25 Kaki Bukit Road 4 at around 12.55pm.
"A unit on the fifth floor of an industrial building was on fire and the whole floor was smoke-logged," said SCDF in a Facebook post.
A video circulating online shows the fire raging in the unit.
The fire was extinguished with two water jets.
Firefighters found two people unconscious inside a unit, opposite from the one that was on fire.
SCDF's emergency medical services personnel conducted cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the pair and conveyed them to Changi General Hospital.
Both men were later pronounced dead, reported The Straits Times.
Damping down operations, in which water is applied to burnt surfaces immediately after a fire is put out, are ongoing.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
