Stomper lauds unsung heroes who are the reason you have a NDP pack in your hands
Lucky enough to get a 2025 National Day Parade (NDP) pack?
There has been much fanfare about the packs' unique designs, meaningful themes, the talented artists behind them and even their useful contents.
But Stomper Anonymous noted that a special group of people might have gone unnoticed amidst all the buzz: the ones who have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to sort and distribute these lovely NDP packs.
Anonymous hopes to recognise and celebrate the efforts of these unsung heroes.
The Stomper said: "As Singapore prepares to celebrate its 60th National Day, more than half a million NDP packs are being distributed across heartland events, the Bay, and the Padang - a cherished tradition that reflects our unity and pride.
"Behind this monumental effort stands the NDP Pack 2025 Committee, a team that has poured their heart, time and energy into bringing this vision to life over the past 10 weeks.
"Coordinating hundreds of thousands of items across multiple inventory lines is no small feat. It requires meticulous planning, seamless coordination and an unwavering focus on soldier welfare - qualities the committee has demonstrated day after day.
"Each day, 60 dedicated personnel step onto the packing floor to set up, organise, and run production lines with precision and care.
"This year, the team also pushed boundaries, introducing innovations that made the process smarter, more efficient, and more sustainable."
According to Anonymous, these innovations include:
- Electric pallet trucks and forklifts for safer, smoother material handling.
- A warehouse management system to improve tracking and coordination.
- An enhanced automated packing system with vision (AI Learning) to boost speed, accuracy and reliability.
- Reinforced carton boxes to ensure packs remain intact during delivery.
- Shrink wrap machines to streamline and secure the packing process.
- Recyclable waste collection to minimise environmental impact.
"Yet beyond technology, it is the people who define this mission," the Stomper added.
"Commanders have placed service before self, sacrificing personal time with their families to plan, engage and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
"Soldiers have shown remarkable resilience, professionalism, and fighting spirit -working long hours, battling fatigue and still ensuring every pack is packed to perfection.
"The NDP Pack Committee has done far more than assemble half a million NDP packs. They have innovated, sacrificed and persevered under pressure, yet their contributions often go unseen.
"As we mark our nation's milestone, it is only fitting that we also recognise and celebrate them: the people who made it possible."
