Kind stranger steps in to save dogs left leashed under hot sun in Holland Village
A man's simple act of compassion moved onlookers after he stepped in to help two dogs that had been left leashed to a railing under the sweltering sun in Holland Village.
Stomper Rosie shared with Stomp a photo of the incident that happened on July 31 at about 10.15am.
"I saw these dogs leashed to the railing in the baking sun," she recounted.
"One was barking, clearly in distress.
"A woman from a nearby shop told me the dogs had been leashed there for about an hour. I was there for less than five minutes."
Rosie said she was looking around for the pet owner and calling the police about possible animal abuse when a man calmly walked over to the dogs.
He then untied them and led them to the shade.
"At first, I thought he was the owner, but no, he was the giant among us," she said. "This is the face of kindness and compassion, pure and true."
Soon after, a helper arrived and took the dogs away.
"While some of us may call the police, or just make a fuss and do nothing, or just stand and watch, this gentleman thought only about the dogs and did what had to be done," the Stomper added.
"I salute this man. Thank you for making the world a better place."
