2 hornbills spotted outside Potong Pasir flat, netizens think they 'escaped from Jurong Bird Park'
A TikTok video of two hornbills perched on a laundry rack outside a window has amused and delighted netizens.
26-year-old content creator Shirley Chu, who uploaded the clip under the user account @shirley.zxc, told Stomp that the birds were spotted in the Potong Pasir area and were "hanging out" on the laundry rack and surrounding trees for about 10 minutes.
Since Ms Chu uploaded the clip on Nov 30, it has racked up over 97,000 views and more than 150 comments as of press time.
Hornbills are a rare bird species, recognisable by their large, pale yellow bills. In Singapore, they can be found in forests, parks, gardens, and terrestrial habitats.
In the 87-second video, one hornbill perches first, followed shortly by another.
"Crazy birds to show you all today. Buy 4D," the caption read.
Ms Chu also spotted three hornbills in the trees just outside her unit, which she reckoned were a family.

'Bird paradise'
Many netizens were amused and delighted by the unusual sighting.
"Bird paradise," a commenter wrote, while another quipped: "they [sic] escaped from Jurong Bird Park."
Others noted that shirley.zxc was lucky, as hornbills are very rare.
It is unclear where the incident took place.
