'Truly in his element': Monkey perched high outside Yishun flat amuses netizens
A video of a monkey perched high on the bamboo support bracket of a Yishun block has amused netizens, who declared that it was "truly in its element".
The monkey sits pensively at the start of the reel before looking around him as a bird flies past. The camera then zooms in, and we see the monkey examining the beam of the bamboo support before placing a prehensile foot on it and scratching its back as the clip ends.
The 25-second video, posted by TikTok user @zhongliandianfolkarts on Nov 20, had garnered 45,300 views, 501 reactions and 54 comments at press time. It was also shared 887 times.
"Truly in his element. So calm seated on a slither of metal," said a netizen.
"Alamak..so high the monkey climb," said another.
Yet another remarked on the monkey's lack of fear of heights: "The monkey like not scared one ah,"
"Sun wukong's journey to the north-east (of singapore)," said a netizen in jest.
While the location is unclear, a closer examination on Google Maps suggests that the incident took place at Block 289 Yishun Ave 6.
