'Power la auntie': Elderly woman refuses to budge in road dispute, holds up traffic
An elderly woman was spotted in a confrontation with several motorists in front of a taxi, while standing in the middle of the road.
In a 25-second clip of the incident, the traffic lights can be seen favouring vehicles while the woman remains in her position during the dispute.
Captioned "Power la auntie", the clip posted on Nov 8 has so far garnered more than 35,800 views, 1,145 reactions, and 18 comments.
It is unclear when and where the incident took place, or what led up to the confrontation. "She wasn’t in any vehicle btw, just crossing the road," said the TikToker.
'We were stuck in this jam': Netizen
"Literally saw a lady block a one-way lane so she could buy coffee," one user remarked. Others who said they were stuck in the jam speculated hat the older woman was the taxi driver.
"There’s a fallen bike at the left side of the taxi as well," another commented. Others speculated on the location, with guesses ranging from Loyang Point and Bukit Batok to Pasir Ris.
Some netizens expressed exasperation at the woman, joking that vehicles would automatically stop whenever she glared at them because of her "magical eye power".
"Oh my god, especially on this route. Pasir Ris already has so many traffic diversions," wrote one user, adding in jest that any future jams in the area would be caused by the woman.
