Police seize clothes of man arrested for luring another into Little India back alley to rob him of $190

A 22-year-old man was arrested after allegedly luring another man, 28, into a Little India back alley to rob him.

The police said they were alerted to the case at Dunlop Street on Nov 8 at about 3.55am.

After luring his victim to the back alley, the suspect assaulted him and demanded money. The victim eventually handed over cash amounting to about $190 to the suspect.

The victim suffered injuries and was conscious when taken to the hospital.

Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from CCTVs and police cameras, officers from the Central Police Division established the identity of the suspect and arrested him within 20 hours.

The clothes worn by the man during the offence were also seized as case exhibits.

He will be charged in court on Nov 10 with robbery with hurt, which carries an imprisonment term of five to 20 years and caning of not less than 12 strokes.
