Mark Lee boards flight only to realise he left his watch at security, thanks China Airlines crew for help retrieving it
A trip to Taipei for his Golden Horse Awards appearance nearly went awry for 57-year-old local actor Mark Lee, until a China Airlines flight attendant and Changi Airport security staff helped him recover his missing watch.
In the first video of what is now a six-part series documenting his journey to the awards on Nov 22, Lee shared that he only realised his watch was missing after he had already boarded the plane.
"Scared me to death. I only noticed my right wrist was empty after I sat down," he said.
He explained that he had removed his watch during security screening and placed it on the tray, but forgot to pick it back up afterwards.
Lee alerted a flight attendant, who "was very nice", he said. She escorted him off the aircraft to look for the watch, and with help from airport security officers, he managed to retrieve it.
"Really want to thank the China Airlines flight attendant and also the Changi Airport security team," he said.
"I hope that before the Golden Horse Awards some bad things happen, so that later tonight during the awards, all the good things will come," he added.
It is unclear when the incident took place. He did not mention the brand of the watch.
The clip posted by @kingkong.mp on Nov 20 has since garnered more than 59,100 views and 1,085 reactions at press time.
'Best service award': Netizen
In an 8days repost of his clip, many netizens wished Lee luck for the awards, while others questioned whether passengers are even allowed to disembark after boarding.
"It's a security issue to board and then leave the plane," one netizen commented. Another simply asked: "Can meh?"
A user quipped: "Because he is a famous person, if any other Tom sick Harry [sic] I doubt 100% he can get off."
Others praised the crew instead, with one commenting: "Best service award."
