'Macaques Paradise': Monkeys take over escalators at Punggol Coast

A troop of monkeys has been spotted taking over the escalators at Punggol Coast Mall.

A 17-second video circulating online, which was posted on Oct 27, captures their playful antics, and has captivated netizens.

While most netizens expressed amusement, some pointed out that the monkeys' behaviour is a result of human activities disrupting their natural habitat.

"We want 10 million population," one netizen lamented.

Others noted the prevasive presence of monkeys in the area, saying they shouldn't be alarmed because "they are the residents".

Others expressed concern, noting it would be "very scary if one of them gets injured by the escalators."
