A man was seen squatting on a patch of grass to eat in the pouring rain, sparking a flurry of reactions online.

Stomper Anonymous alerted Stomp to a TikTok video of the incident posted on July 4. It is unclear where the video was taken.

In the video, a man, supposedly a migrant worker, squats down in a grassy area. He can be seen eating food wrapped in brown oil-lined paper, which is placed on the pavement in front of him.

Rain showers onto the man, but he continues eating, seemingly unfazed.

For some netizens, this was a heartbreaking sight.

"Imagine if his family sees him in this condition," a user commented.

Another empathised with the man's situation: "I don't know who he is, but my heart feels very sad. I'm scared that my partner will also experience this. 🥺"

Some questioned why he ate in the rain, when there may be shelter nearby.

One user asked: "Why eat there? Void decks are empty."

A few netizens felt that this was a common sight, with one commenting, "It's the life of a foreign worker in Singapore."
