An elderly rider on a Personal Mobility Device (PMD) was spotted cruising down the middle of a single-lane road, slowing traffic and testing the patience of drivers behind him.

In the 16-second clip uploaded to TikTok, the elderly man can be seen riding steadily ahead, seemingly unfazed by the car trailing close behind.

"Calling my boss that I'll be reaching office in 2 hours time due to slow traffic," said the subtitle.

The video, later reposted on Reddit on Oct 27, has drawn more than 400 upvotes at press time.

'I will horn him sia': Netizen

"When they are on the road, they ride slowly but when they are at the pavement, they ride like f1," one quipped.

Others criticised the rider for flouting traffic rules, pointing out that PMDs are not allowed on public roads.

LTA rules stipulate that PMDs and PMAs (Personal Mobility Aids) can go on footpaths, shared paths and cycling paths, but not roads. Furthermore, only PMAs are allowed on pedestrian-only paths.

"The uncle will get fined big time if caught," said a user. "I will horn him sia," said another.

But not everyone condemned him. A few defended the elderly rider, noting that narrow or crowded pavements might have left him no choice.

Meanwhile, another joked: "Who are you to tell me what I can or cannot do, I built this country from nothing when you were just a little boy."
